During our first evening in Chicago, Bee and I walked down to a resturaunt just after sunset and we took the river Archetecture tour the following evening at around the same time. The result was an opportunity for many nightscapes. My goal here was to capture the spirit of the buildings and how they connected to each other. It was difficult not to get photos that felt too similar and I ultimately started going for photos that were more an experience in texture or reminded me of those old brushstroke abstract prints popular in the late 80s and early 90s by playing with the builings as brushstrokes against the empty space of the sky. Most of that was in post-work (editing). This did emphasize to me (again...) the need for me to study classic compositions at some point.
