I have no idea when I shot this. I said 2024 but it was more likely summer of 2023 based on some of the political signs I captured (issue 1 was a big deal in the summer 2023 election to preserve abortion rights in Ohio). I think this was an oddball roll of black and white film because the tonal range was less crisp than usual and there were some spots where the film looked damaged. I would bet this was an expired roll. It was partly those effects and partly just the way some of the content was captured that made these shots generally feel creepy to me. If you look closely at some of theme there are things like 'private property' in otherwise pleasant scenes or branches shaped like fingers coming at you or other elements that just reinforce that effect to me. Which is interesting, because I shoot that kind of stuff not infrequently, and the time I shot the dead squirrel in the tree (something most people labeled as creepy) didn't strike me personally as weird at all. This was likely shot on my Nikon f100, no idea what lens.
