Iolani Palace was the last palace used by Hawaiian royalty, and also where the last Hawaiian queen was held in house arrest following her loss of power. It's notable because it was one of the firt large buildings where electric lights and phone lines were installed, but it was also more 'large house' by our standards than what most think of when they visualize a 'castle'.
