These gardens were a gift to the queen from Japan as memory serves. They have a distinctly asian flavor and look out to the larger Hilo area. They are located on the big island and stood out to me as one of the absolute novelties of our visit. Hawaii has a very strong asian precense and it spoke to that. The gardens were also very popular, with many people there both times we visited.
