These were taken by request of mom for her birthday. She wanted to take some more up to date family photos. When I gave her the choice of location, she wanted something in the woods and showed me a photo of a path in the trees she really liked. We went to Glacier ridge to shoot and it was a cloudy day, putting me at a higher iso than I normally prefer with my portraits. These were all taken with a remote on a tripod with my SL2 as I was also in the photos. Our goal for outfits was black shirts and medium wash jeans; dad was the only one off with light wash jeans. I edited all the photos of him with jeans to adjust them to be darker to better match everyone else. I purposely wanted to shoot these a little wide to capture that forest feel to them, and in my opinion some of the compositions ended up more playful and modern than I usually see in this kind of photography. I kept in some of the candid shots purposely because I felt they gave a feel for the vibes of the day, and I think capturing the 'feeling' of a moment with people is important.
