Personal Pinterest Box Challenge

This was an interesting adventure. Since I've been trying out more of the pinterest mystery boxes recently where I pay someone to thrift certain kinds of items for me, I wanted to see how big of a challenge it is. I took the average price point I see (around $60) for smaller packages (usually 2 or 4 items at that price) and then took 60% of that to account for a profit margin and went shopping with specific goals based on the kind of stuff I've been asking for. My conclusion was it was much more challenging than expected, and most of the 'thrift stores' I shop at myself are closer to consignment and outside the price range for those boxes at that price point. Higher price points for the higher end thrift stores and vintage stores makes sense. I ended up about $5 over my budget, and that account for the beige skirt (visible under the black skirt), the pink vest, the red tunic shirt and the white and grey tunic shirt. There were other items I purchased at the same thrift stores outside of that challenge (the beige shirt, the long sleeved pink shirt, the blue flowered pants, the multicolored blue scarf and the lavender Dooney and Burke purse). I am making myself style items I thrift now after purchasing them to ensure I know how they can fit into my wardrobe, be able to remind myself of that, and to make it harder on myself to buy clothes to create additional personal burden on doing so. I do also remove items from my closet that no longer fit my style, my body, or that I'm not wearing. As my style as refined, it is becoming easier and easier to be aware of what works and doesn't work for my broader collection.
